I can't found a complete and reliable list of all known acer species (including synonyms and old species names).

The best one I have is this :
    http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/splist.pl?66
but it seems there's some species not mentioned in this one.

Does anybody has a better one ?

    Thank you

Just copy and paste it if you like - being a work of a US Federal Government organisation, the content is in the public domain (i.e., not covered by copyright restrictions).

    André,
Good to see you here again!
The GRIN list looks pretty complete to me. Another good list can be found in the article by P. de Jong in the Proceedings of the 2002 International Maple Symposium. I have not cross checked them so I cannot tell it they are similar.

Look at the date of André's post ;-)

I suspect the GRIN list is taken from de Jong, as all his new combinations are included in it.

    Hi Guys !

I'm still around even 2 years later ;-)

I now spend more time on Wikipedia contributing in articles about maples and other species.
    See for example : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acer_(genus)

Your help is welcome there too.
