    Hi,
I have seen this same plant referred to by both names, minima and thymifolia on the web but it is something I have seen for sale but rarely so can't name it properly.
It is one I grow in a basket for the humming birds.

Hmmm! Small leaved Fuchsias, you need a real expert to tell one from the other.
Over here the wee ones are mostly F. microphylla and F.x bacillaris.
If we have a mild winter they are virtually evergreen and flower well into the winter months. If very cold they loose the leaves, but grow back again in the spring.

Have a look at this site which may help. Or it may leave you with even more questions!

    microphylla
oh yes, that was the other name...memory
I planted one into the ground just before the snows flew here last November and it survived but didn't do really well this summer for lack of light I think. Have planted one more as well this year.
I've had the Magellanicas do extremely well for many years till last hard winter that killed off the larger branches that were 7' tall and perhaps 3" across.
Hummies love both and come for them as long as they bloom.
