Frozen Bur Acorns - ruined or go ahead & plant?

I have about 15 Bur acorns that have been in the freezer for about 5 or 6 months. would it be a total waste of time to plant them in my front yard, or should I just wait til I can find some fresh ones?

 

I suspect they won't succeed, but no harm in trying. Remember to report on the results!

 

I guess I'll plant them all in a hole about an inch deep and see if anything comes up.
