frondy weed

    There is a LOT of this weed in my gardens. It grows from seed each year, and it doesn't have runners or big roots. In fact, it's easy to pull up.

    This plant is prolific in both my community garden plot and my backyard. Not sure if it's a native weed or something that another gardener planted. If it's useful or edible I'd love to know!

    Here are two pictures. The frondy leaves grow opposite each other, so from the top the plant has a distinctive square or diamond shape.

    Google - Ambrosia artemisiifolia, common ragweed.
