    Costus pulverulentis - if you ask a local, they'll call it Caña Brava.

    Lorax thank you once again! I wonder why "brava". Maybe it stings or something.

    Probably refers to the visual impact of the inflorescence.

    It's been explained to me that this one is Caña Brava because it gets taller than the other native Costus species. Caña Agria (C. acreanus) is called because of the sour, refreshing juice.
