When we drove into this abandoned gravel pit area, the gravel was "moving" - thousands of little frogs hopping around on the gravel edging the ponds. It was midday, so perhaps that was the reason I saw only one sandpiper feeding on them; I expected more predators. The tadpole photo shows some tadpoles with emerging back legs.
