Hi I am new to the site but not new to posting to these types of threads. I am trying to find the identity of this plant. I know it is a lily, maybe dayliliy, but I have been trying for years to find it's identity. Can you help me with the attached picture. It is very, very fragrant. The stamen have red filaments with a forest green anther. thanks for the help. beechpeech
Welcome to the forums beechpeech. It looks like Crinum powellii. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=c...LP0AWyloHACA&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1920&bih=967
Ditto to Crinum, however it's not Crinum x powellii as that has single colored flowers (without stripes). It is probably Crinum x digweedii 'Royal White' or a similar hybrid.
Thanks for the correction Axel. Not one I have come across... what a beauty. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=C...2b0wW0pIHYBw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1536&bih=699
Thanks Axel and Silver Surfer for the reply on my lily. She is quite old and I need to plant it in the ground as my mother did and gets far more blooms. It does not like cold conditions but it does comes back each year. beechpeech
As I looked up the Crinum x digweedii @ Milberger's Landscaping and Nursery in San Antonio, TX, there is an article titled, It's Crinum Time Again by Greg Grant on these lilies and his description of this is the 'Royal White' with white blooms and pale pink stripes. Thanks very very much for the research for me. I have looking for 3 years. beechpeech
