From the latter link: "In the 2006 weed list, the California Invasive Plant Council (Cal-IPC) evaluated Euphorbia lathyris but did not list it."

So, probably something to avoid. There are species of Euphorbia in cultivation that would likely be considered more attractive by most, and no realistic potential of being invasive (though all, I think, have the same cautions re: the dermatitis-inducing sap). You can read some horror stories here: Euphorbia myrsinites

If it is found around the house - it is most probably late to avoid. In Utah, it is also listed as invasive. I got one plants as a gift from birds. Growing at the same spot for more than 5 years without any sign of spreading. Looks nice, so, I keep it.

    Probably not dispersed by birds.

That was just my guess. My house is located in the middle of neighborhood, 2-3 mi from the nearest wild areas. And the plant grew up right under the bird feeder. Guilty by association.
Unless, of course, it came from the bag of seeds. Not guilty!

Probably not dispersed by birds eating them. Stuck in the feathers, different story.
