The following was received via email:

Your web page does not update. Why is that? We sent a question in almost week ago and there are no updates to the Monkey puzzle tree site. Can you explain this?

    Thank you.

The UBC Botanical Garden Forums is a public forum for the exchange of information about plants and gardening. We try to answer questions that are posted, but we do not have the staff to respond to every entry. Volunteers look for new postings every week and do answer what they can. We are very thankful to our members who contribute answers and discussion throughout the forums. Even with all these eyes reading the forums, some questions will not receive replies.

Posts to the forums do not receive replies for different reasons. It may be that no one knows the answer, it may be that the question has been asked recently in the same forum, it may be that the question is not understood.

What can you do if your question is not answered? If your question is not answered after a few weeks time, you can reply to your own thread to bump it back into the recent posts. It may be helpful to add information to clarify your question. The more detailed and direct your question is, the more likely someone will be able to answer it. Be clear and concise. People from all over the world are reading the forums. Slang and abbreviation may not be understood. When choosing a title for your message, pick something that describes your question. A general title may be overlooked.

I hope this helps. Thank you for contributing to the forums. Further discussion and tips on how to get replies to posts are welcome in this thread.
