Forest Berry

    I found the attached berries while walking in the woods near a creek in Burnaby, BC.
    Likely a simple ID for the experts here but several searches on the Internet have not yielded an answer to me yet.
    So, if you can, please identify the attached.

    A species of Polygonatum or other closely related genus.

    Disporum or possibly Streptopus. The latter has a kink in the in the slender stem holding the fruit.

    I will take a closer look at my next opportunity to see if it matches the descriptions of the varieties you have suggested.
