I have a flying insect on my Lady Banks rose. It is 1/8 to 1/4 inch long. The color is light green with transparent green wings. I also have some clear sticky stuff on the edges of my new growth leaves. The rose is located outside a window and between the neighbors wall about an area of 5-6 feet on the north/west side so it gets the late afternoon sun. It has nice new growth so it seems to like it there. I planted it about a month ago. I amended the soil with peat and top soil because it seems like the soil does not drain well and it is on a drip system that goes off every morning for about 20 minutes. What do you suggest I do to get rid of the flying insects and the sticky stuff. thanks for your help.
Is this your insect? If it is,don't kill it,he's on your side. http://www.fcps.edu/StratfordLandingES/Ecology/mpages/green_lacewing.htm
