Flowering tree...is it a cherry?

    This 10 to 12 foot tree is in full bloom right now. I don't have any idea what it could be. The flowers look like that of a cherry tree but the leaves don't look like cherry leaves I have seen. The measuring tape in a few of those pictures is in inches (I wasn't sure if you could see it). Any help you can offer would be great.

    I’m in Blair, NE, on the line between USDA zones 4b and 5a.

    Syringa reticulata. Cherries never produce privet-like flower heads.
