Hey guys, after i planted a Prunus "J.H. Veitch" some of the leaves started turning yellow and dry around the edges. Im not sure what the problem is. Is it because of overwatering, or maybe i didn't plant it deep enough. I used a net to restrict sunlight but the same thing still happens. There are also plants next to it but they are all fine. Does the leaves also fall off in winter? Do i need to by any special type of fertiliser? Can anybody help with this?

    Thanks in advance

Maybe it's mineral salts in the irrigation water, precipitating out and burning the edges of the leaves. Inspect the leaves for salt deposits to see.

Note that the correct name of the variety is 'Fugenzo' - although Kuitert, Japanese Floweiring Cherries (1999, Timber Press, Portland) claims that in Japan they use that name for what we call 'Shirofugen' in the West. Anyway, 'James H. Veitch' is a synonym regardless.
