    Hi!
I have inherited a Konifer and there is a plant growing in the same pot. Can you tell me whether it is a weed or a flower?

The conifer is Cupressus macrocarpa 'Goldcrest'.

    - If you like its looks, then it is a flower.
    - If you don't, it's a weed. :)

For all it's worth, I think it is pretty and softens the appearance of the evergreen.

Since there are multiple similar yellow Monterey cypress cultivars on the market I wouldn't be so confident that it was that particular one.

Should perhaps have mentioned that Herb Robert has a very distinctive smell when you weed them out(more or a horrid pong!)Round Wales they grow in all the grass verges and lanes,(side walks I believe you call them on the other side of the pond!) In spring the new growth looks so attractive. As it grows, one wee plant can spread to cover an area 12 inches or more across.

Geranium robertianum gives me no end of trouble in our garden. It is a prolific self seeder and crops up every where. In my books, it is a pesky weed. If that were in my garden, I would have made it disappear before you can say "Boo!".
