I have this one clump of "something" that came up in my flower bed. Does anyone know if it is a weed or possibly a forgotten perennial? Thanks!

Looks like a very interesting forgotten perennial! Let it flower and see what you have-be sure to post the images here!!

One question: are the leaves sticky??

Nope, leaves aren't sticky..however, I just tore one of the leaves off and it has a pretty strong odor. I can't think of how to describe it. I will have to get a second opinion from my husband as to what it smells like tomorrow.

Can't get good enough view to be sure, it is usually more silvery but leaf shape resembles russian sage (Perovskia).

Definitely a weed, no doubt at all.

I have doubts. There are plenty of plants in the Asteraceae and Lamiaceae that have less-than-desirable foliage, but are grown for their flowers, etc. instead. I'd rather wait to see the flower before suggesting it be dug up.

I may need to mention that it is in FULL sun and here in central Alabama, that can be pretty hot! It just has me so stumped because there is only that one clump of it in the flower bed. Normally, a weed would be found throughout the bed. Thanks for all of your suggestions and thoughts! Keep 'em coming! I can't wait to see if it will ever bloom, that would help tremendously!
