We live in Gatineau Quebec actually a suburb if you wish called Buckingham.
This early summer,we went to a place near Montreal. This was a Bed & Breakfast place and quite nice.
On the morning we left, the owners wife gave us 3 plants. At the time they were less than 10 inches high.
The plants have prospered and we like to know what they are and how we can continue to grow them.
The lady indicated that they were perennials but the plants did not seem to be bulbous.
I have attached 2 pictures and would appreciate any help in identifying as well as means to renew them for next spring...
Thanx in advance for any help.....

Impatiens roylei syn. I. glandulifera. Can be a very invasive annual. They self sow from seed easily.

Yep, Impatiens glandulifera (Himalayan Balsam). An invasive weed in many areas.
