Flower ID needed (from New Zealand)

    Any ideas what this is? I saw it in someone's home garden in November (spring in New Zealand), as I was passing by. You can get an idea of the size from the bug on the petal.

    It looks similiar to Acidanthera (bicolor?). But, the purple colouration is a little different in pattern. Could it be related?

    Now Gladiolus callianthus. This one is proabably another glad, one of the small, orchid-like hybrids sold as Hardy Gladiolus.

    I'm not sure that's right. Here are some pictures of Hardy Gladiolus, and they don't look at all like my flower image: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q="Hardy+Gladiolus"

    Please try googling Gladiolus callianthus, rather than the generic term "hardy gladiolus", and then compare to the resulting images.
