Flower ID from Machu Picchu, Peru

    Please help me identify the flowers in the picture. I saw them at Machu Picchu and was told the name but have forgotten. Thank you very much. P4160211.jpg

    Look generally like Epidendrum orchids. Common garden flower in tropical areas. If not those then another orchid - there are tens of thousands of kinds.

    What I can remember when I was there back in the late seventy’s is that they believe to have forty species of orchids around Cusco, Perú.
    By looking at the picture I would say it is Epidendrum secundum huiñayhuayna or possibly Epidendrum syringothyrsus.
