I think it would be hard to tell the male from the female without seeing the flowers. There are self fertile varieties on the market now. Are the plants not labelled with the sex or say they are self fertile?

the one on the right is a female and the one on the left is a male. the nursery i bought them at had them labeled m or f. the reason i brought that up is because i know where an acre of wild ones are at but i couldnt tell them apart and i didnt want to dig them up because i might have had two females. ill post some more pictures next spring.

I would assume the wild vines have bloomed already and the obvious now occurs to me. You can easily tell the females, as they will be the vines with fruit forming.

youre right. they bloomed last spring so its too late to tell. i would have had to wait until next year to tell, and wait another year for the fruit after planting them!
