Long story short. I broke my camera when I went on my trip to the southwest US. Had to buy a new one (since photography was a big part of the trip). Had my old one repaired, and then sent in to be converted to infrared. Just got it back 30 mins ago, and here's the first photo in infrared (handheld, so excuse the crooked horizon)

How do you convert it to infrared?

p.s. Didn't know you were going to be in the southwest...you could have at least said Hi ;)

I had it done through LifePixel. They swap out a piece of glass that covers the sensor and prevents infrared from coming through with another piece of glass that prevents visible light from penetrating and only allows IR to pass.

I'll be back in the area - fell in love with the Chiricahua area, and need to go back to visit White Sands, but that's just the tip of the iceberg for the photo opportunities.
