I would like to find Sappho a whitish rhodo with a dark purple throat. My mother wanted one and I would like to plant one in my garden in honour of her. She died some years ago. I live in the Lower Mainland of BC. Any ideas? I am new to this site. Thanks.

I see Aldergrove Nursery listed that cultivar last year. They may have some. You may just have to call around to some nurseries to find it.

if you haven't looked or found one, I saw them at Garden Works in Burnaby, this string. I would advise to plant it at the back of other material- they tend to get leggy.

Except that plants with large leaves do not look good at the back of plantings.

Thanks for the tip. I will check it out but probably they are all gone at this time of year. Will try in the spring, early spring.
