Fig trees and root containment

    I have heard from someone that a fig tree needs to be planted with a root containment
    (rocks or the like) around it or it will not yield fruit. I've never heard of this...has anyone else ever heard of this, and is it really necessary?

    Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.
     
  2. It helps them bear fruit sooner but not necessary
