I have watched a few videos on propagating fig tree cuttings but not sure I am finding the answer I need.
A lovely neighbour handed me a box of ripe figs and 7 branches from her fig tree this AM (leaves and fruit included on each branch). She said "just stick it in the ground and water every day"
What do I do? Is it as easy as that? I have them sitting in water right now - pic attached.
    Any suggestions?

It could be, apparently figs root readily without hormone.

It's a bit early in the year for this (for best results), see this article for more on propagation: The Best Ways to Propagate Fig Trees
