I've been given what appears to be a normal Benjamina Ficus, except for one thing. The branches are contorted. They do not grow strainght like a normal ficus, but crawl all over the pot. The only thing I can compare it too is a contorty Filbert nut tree. I've googled till I'm green but can't see the structure clearly in the pictures I've found of some thing called "curly ficus". Does anyone have a clue to it's name? Barb

I have one of these. It was sold as Ficus benjamina 'Zig-zag' but that name may be made up. 'Wiandi' is a cultivar that has somewhat contorted stems. However the ones returned by an image search do not have stems nearly as contorted as the one that I have.

Thank you Junglekeeper! Just about the time I think I know something - something like this shows up and throws a monkey wrench into eveything. I know the fig family is huge and widely varried, but I've never heard this "Wiandi" name before. ;))) barb
