I have a Ficus Benjamin that is losing about 40 leaves a day at the moment. I have had it for a year and just started doing this about 2 months ago. If it is a watering issue, how much water should an 8 foot Ficus get? If its something else, please let me know!! The 3rd pic shows whats happening to some of my leaves before they fall, they turn yellow. Others fall when they are green still. Thanks!

It looks like it could use a lot more light, and water only when more than less of the soil is dry. You might also want to do some selective pruning and keep the humidity as high as possible.

Have you moved recently? Is that a new location for the fig? Figs tend to lose leaves when they are moved. It does look as though it was not grown to be that size in that location...I too would prune off some of the bald branches. They like to be watered before they get really dry. I usually dig my finger into the soil, beyond the top dry part and feel down below. If it is just barely moist, time for another drinkie. I'm a big believer in good soaks when they are watered, instead of little bits here and there. Figs like a lot of light, but could be burned by too much direct sunlight. If that is the best you can do for light, then so be it, although you might consider opening up the curtains during the day if you are not already doing so. Check too for spider mites. Fine webbing which makes the leaves look dusty, and very minute moving bugs on the leaves. That can cause leaf drop. Hope this helps.
