I am on my third Windmill Palm, hoping third time lucky. When is the best time to fertilize the palm and when should I stop. The leaves are starting to go yellow and I am baffled.I live in Courtenay on the high side so we get colder air and lots of wind.

    Thanks

You should have stopped fertilizing all of your perennial plants by now. They need time to harden off for the winter. Go buy yourself a roll of burlap and some jute so you're ready when the time comes to wrap up your Trachycarpus fortunii for the winter.

Also, be sure to never break off the centre frond. That will surely kill the palm tree.

Thanks for the reply. The leaves are going yellow, do you know what causes it to do that?..We planted the palm in the ground on Mothers Day this year.
