I have a newly installed fence which I would like to cover with a climbing vinelike flowering plant. I would like to plant now and have the new vines well established
    by next spring.

    What would you suggest?

    Thanks

Silverlace vine and trumpet vines grow quickly and are both beautiful

Hey - before you plant the trumpet vine, read the post about it on the next page of this forum! It's apprently a vicious vine that takes over everything!

In Monterey you should be able to choose from a much wider range than in a cold climate, provided the position is not exposed to gales that would blow the climbers off their supports, tear their parts or burn them with salt. See 'Guide to Plant Selection' in Sunset WESTERN GARDEN BOOK for ideas.
