    Hi!

My girlfriends grandma has had this plant for the past 50 some years. After her passing early this year, we have undertaken the task of nurturing for the rest of our lives.

Since this is the most important plant to my girlfriend, I would really like to find the specific genus as to care for it as best as possible and learn about its natural climate.

    Flowering
It flowers twice a year, summer and winther. The stem always divides into 3 branches(Two starting side branches just below the compact flower cluster).
Flowers are bright pink. Stems reach several meters in height (2-3m) and grows ca. 10-15cm a day.

    Leaves
The leaves are not spiky as all of the aloes I've found resembling this one. Instead of spiky edges, it has more of a sword-like serrated edge and a very pointy end.
The spots on the leaves doesn't seem to follow any specific pattern.
Other than that, the leaves have a third 'edge', visible on the pictures.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Probably Gasteria bicolor. One of my favorite plants!! These will really reward you for frequent light fertilizing, with many bloom stalks at once, and possibly more than twice a year. It has an amazing plant-size to bloom-size ratio. :)

Thanks for the replies, both of you!!

I have also found it to be Bicolor, as the tips of some of the leaves displayed the characteristic orange colour after relocation of the plant. Can they shoot several flower stalks at a time, or do you refer to the branched ones from the main one? Would love for it to produce some sucklings, but dunno if they do?
