    Thanks for sharing this @allelopath! I look forward to viewing it after work today. One key element around this, is the correct identification of species as well as the different Gyromitra species in N.A. versus Europe.

    True morels also contain hydrazine, the chemical mentioned regarding false morels, just in smaller amounts. However, I've never heard of a connection to ALS before. This is another reason not to eat raw morels.
