Saw a very poetic film today. Maples can open new interests, I've always admired Japanese culture with all its contradicytions, but I've always been fascinated by their art too, litterature, cinema, animation : Kawabata, Mishima, Misogushi, Kurosawa, Miyazaki... "Every Day a Good Day"is not only about the tea ceremony, it's about the life of a Japanese woman through about 25 years. It tells a lot about the way the Japanese see the world, the place of women in society too though it's anecdoctical. A beautiful film that I recommend if you have the opportunity to see it. Trailer in English : The trailer in French is not exactly the same, less "dramatic", more poetic :
Looks interesting, Much less "dramatic" I agree. I guess I need to pull out some of my Ozu dvd's that have been collecting dust for a long spell.
