Am wondering if anyone could recommend an evergreen bush that likes a LOT of shade. The front of our house faces north, so we're looking for something to put in front that would look nice all year. Help!

In addition to the yews mentioned by Michael, there are lots of broadleaf evergreen shrubs that like shade - boxwood , holly (Ilex), or various Rhododendrons. Another needled evergreen that might work is cephalotaxus (plum yew I think is the common name). Cruise local nurseries - they usually have plenty of evergreens in stock this time of year, since that's all that looks good.

Boston has severe winters. "Front of our house" also implies limited space, not suitable for something tall. Check reliable local outlets, maybe in spring (if fall planting a gamble there - as it is anywhere not USDA 6 or above).
