Hello, I am in the process of building a fence for my backyard. I've attached a picture of one I saw in the Bellingham, WA area that I would like to replicate.

I would like to plant a creeping vine to grow through the 4" grid of the fence. Can anyone help with my choice? Each panel of the fence will be 5' x 8'. A flowering vine would be nice, but as long as it is evergreen and can grow in late-afternoon sun/low sun that would be great. Thanks!!

I once had a Master Gardener tell me, "if you put up an arbor, a fence or anything that will support a vine, don't just plant one thing. Then you only have blooms at one time a year. Plant several different plants and you could have blooms all year." Climbing Roses, Honeysuckle, clematis, and many others. Have fun with it! Just please, don't plant ivy! ;)) barb
