I'm looking for recommendations for evergreen trees to screen out a view. Screening is to go along a 6-8 foot high backyard fence which is gets lots of afternoon sun. Prefer to have a tree form which would have trunk to fence height than evergreen crown above. Mature height in the 15-25 foot range. Located in Vancouver, thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thank you! I just looked up Myrica californica, looks good. Planting a total of 11 or 12 trees to use for the screen, and would like to group in 3-4's which leaves me looking for a total of 3 or 4 species. List now has Arbutus unedo, Magnolia grandiflora and Myrica californica. Thanks again, always appreciate your suggestions and quick response.

hello - be sure to check the local bylaws about fence and hedge heights - sometimes it differs from side to front to rear yard (assuming a square/rectangle lot.

a simple google search shows this info bulletin from the City of Vancouver BC - you will obviously need to check that this is the most-current version.
