evergreen saplings

    From full grown evergreens, how to you create saplings?

    The easiest way is probably to plant the seeds from the trees. If you want a particular clone then you would take cuttings or try grafting. Here is a nice link explaining how to take cuttings http://cru.cahe.wsu.edu/CEPublications/pnw0152/pnw0152.html
    In some cases it may be necessary to graft branches onto another plant for success. The success of any of these procedures will depend on the species you are trying to propagate. Some plants are not easy to reproduce.

    For common evergreen trees, you may find saplings sprouted in the area. If on your property or you get permission, you could transplant some of those.
