I just bought a house in Edmonton AB, zone 2 really, and my neighbor has a gorgeous evergreen. Half of my front yard is covered in pine needles and nothing grows there. Any chance I can plant some sort of bush like a lilac or roses and expect it to survive in that soil? Failing that...is there a ground cover that will make it?
