My mature hedging Euonymus Green Spire is riddled with scale!
I didn't notice in the fall, But now the plant is infested. I realize that no systemics can be used . At this time of year, what can I do to control them?

in truth, if you are in Vancouver no pesticides (banned by city bylaw) can be used. excepting safers soaps and some others.

Yes, Dormant Oil/Lime Sulphur is permitted in Vancouver. Safer's Trounce may also be allowable for use in Vancouver, not too sure though. Jim.

I think the soap based stuff is allowed in Vancouver. they have a list of allowed stuff on the city of van website somewhere.

Wow, that seems very controlling of the government. In reality is it as condescending as the city Web site suggests? The "Well, if you were a good gardener you wouldn't have a problem" attitude is very annoying. Makes the chemical companies seem lovable.

It would be interesting to see a thread about these restrictions and how easy/difficult it is to abide by them.

They would have to pry my iron phosphate slug bait from my cold, dead fingers.
