eucalytus pauciflora size

Discussion in 'Outdoor Gardening in the Pacific Northwest' started by Unregistered, Aug 29, 2005.

  1. Am hoping to plant a E. pauciflora (or a gunnii) in lower West Vancouver, BC. As we have height restrictions, am wondering what I can expect for the mature height of this tree in our climate. Am assuming (hoping) that it will not achieve its normal full height in our climate.

20-25m for Eucalyptus pauciflora, 25-30m for E. gunnii

How much room do you have to play with? Both are trees, but the first one is comparatively short and slow, whereas the second one shoots right up. Other species are grown here, too. Eucalyptus perinniana has been one of the most successful, like the snow gums often makes a comparatively small, open specimen. As always, your mileage may vary. Gums are nearly always grown from seed, seedlings will have differing amounts of inherent vigor, as well as be affected by site conditions at final planting location.
