You should take a look at this post: http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=2335 It answers your first question. Eucalyptus will have varying amounts of leaf oils. If you don't find a comparison of varieties for oil content, you can always use your nose to decide which kind to buy.
