i have about a 85 foot eucalptus tree in my north facing backyard in kitsilano. after this winter i have only brown leaves on all my branches and i am afraid its dead or near dead.however is it possible for it to come back, how long before it falls over, who can tell me after viewing the tree about it's condition.tks mate
Look for sprouts from the burl at the base. These may be only just coming out now. 85' is pretty tall for this region, too bad it didn't last.
thank you for your info, could anyone give me a contact name and number of someone who could examine our tree and give us an educated evaluation of its health.it's become a family menber to us but it is also stretches out over wires and our neighbour's garage.tks tucker
Years ago I lived in the San Jose, CA. area. There was a fire in the hills west of us and alot of eucalptus trees were burned. Later in the year they sprouted new shoots from the base and continued to grow. If you want to know more contact University of Calif. @ Davis Master Gardeners. They know alot about different eucalptus, and may be able to give you some good advice. Barb
