I have a 4-year-old snow gum (eucalyptus coccifera) in my front yard. So far it has been healthy and fast growing. Last year it grew more than 120cm (4 ft). It now stands 2.75 metres tall (9 ft). Just recently, though, the leaves on the new growth have been curled. Also, the leaves are brown at the tips. Does anyone know if this is a dehydration issue, or a nutrient issue, or what?
Every spring, I aerate the lawn. Then I hire a gardener to do the power raking. He also applies lime and weed 'n feed. But it's the same pattern every year. I planted the eucalyptus in May, 2010 and it's been doing great until a few weeks ago.
Probably this time the herbicide got to it. This far north, gums are not watered lawn trees anyway: http://arthurleej.com/a-Trees of merit.html
