I have a 4-year-old snow gum (eucalyptus coccifera) in my front yard. So far it has been healthy and fast growing. Last year it grew more than 120cm (4 ft). It now stands 2.75 metres tall (9 ft). Just recently, though, the leaves on the new growth have been curled. Also, the leaves are brown at the tips. Does anyone know if this is a dehydration issue, or a nutrient issue, or what?

Did you put any chemicals on the lawn?

Every spring, I aerate the lawn. Then I hire a gardener to do the power raking. He also applies lime and weed 'n feed. But it's the same pattern every year. I planted the eucalyptus in May, 2010 and it's been doing great until a few weeks ago.

Since herbicides degrade over time, is the leaf-curling likely to be a temporary problem?

Yes it will degrade, but no herbicide use in the area is tolerable from this point forward.
