    Looks like Erica verticillata to me.

    I found in my collection this picture, looks very the same, it says Erica 'African Fanfare'. Picture is taken in September(9/7/2012).
    I don't remember where it was. Maybe UBC garden, maybe somewhere outside of Flower shop. But At least we agree that it is Erica?

    Notice the "African" in the name, there is a whole range of tender African heaths in addition the hardy species seen outdoors in temperate climates. Sometimes examples of the African kinds are sold as seasonal flowering potted plants at shops here.
