Many people think plants only grow in soil. Did you realize that in a rain forest more than 80% of all the plants grow up on the branches of a tree and never touch the soil? And did you know species such as Philodendron and Anthurium are widely variable? Basically there is no set shape for many aroid species. For 8 years I've been wanting to build an epiphytic plant display and finally we have it under way! Within the next few weeks we will have more than 100 epiphytic plants including orchids, Bromeliad species, Anthurium, Philodendron, ferns, Epiphyllum species and many more growing on an artificially produced tree! If you'd enjoy seeing our new display, which is still under construction, click this link and learn a bit about epiphytes: http://www.exoticrainforest.com/Epiphyte tree.html Did you know that many rain forest species are widely variable? Our goal is to be able to physically watch variation take place in a controlled environment in order to be able to observe the changes within the life of our specimens. And this new display will allow us to photograph specimens as necessary in a static form to compare what is truly happening. The photo is a small section showing orchids and bromeliads added on two. Much more is being added today! Click on the link to see the effect of the entire display
