Hey everyone, I'm wracking my brain trying to think of what words are called when they start with the same letter, such as, Rainbow Radiance, Peaceful Patchouli, etc... anyone?? If you're wondering why, I'm making bath salts and trying to name them, and I'm thinking there's probably a website out there that could help me if only I could think of what those words are called... help! THANX!
Enjoy this page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/-onym I barely made a dent in reading it, but thought you might get a kick out of it. As for the same letter beginnings, I'm not sure if that's a special thing, but maybe it is. I'm aware of a figure of speech that I first learned from biblical studies called "paranomasia" or rhyming words - words with similar beginnings or sounds. It's common in several languages. In Genesis, "without form and void" is from "tohu va bohu" where two words rhyme to give emphasis. Rock and Roll, Space Case, or the Jet Set are examples in English from the past recent decades - where "rock and roll" more closely fit your same letter query.
