I just purchased an empress peach and am wondering if u should grow it in a pot or in the ground for best results. I live in Ladner so have very rich soil but it's damp which may cause leaf curl I have read. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Full sun and good drainage for peach trees. If all your soil is a damp, bottom-land type and you do not have a hot south-facing wall to train the tree against, it might be as well to grow it in a tub that can be filled with well-aerated potting mix and placed in a sunny location.

A way to interfere with disease infestation is to grow the tree beneath a cover that keeps rain and damp off. Fanning it out against a sunny wall, beneath an awning or overhang can work well here.

Thanks Ron! I think I will try it in a pot against my south facing wall and will definitely fan it.
