Hi, I need some advice. I have planted 12 cedars along a chain fence last year and have replaced 5 of them already. Additionally, the ones that I did not replace are turning brown centrally, with patches of brown and white on the leaves.

I have purchased a soaker hose and put fertilizer on them and it does not seem to work.

Any suggestions? Should I return them? Did I plant them wrong? I've been told that simply digging a hole and placing the tree in is not sufficien as there is improper drainage.

If I remove them ,dig up the soil and re-plant, will they die of transplant shock?

    Your advise please

If the drainage is impeded start by dealing with that. No point in planting into soil that is too wet, other actions like fertilizing will not correct this. Install drain lines if whole area a bog, otherwise plant high - on a layer or mound of topsoil that will give the trees and place to grow above the water table.
