I've just purchased some 6 foot emerald cedars and haven't had a chance to plant them yet...(purchased 4 days ago)..they are beginning to turn a rust colour......is this because of direct sunlight or something else ?
I'm not sure where they should be planted in the sun or shade.
    Thanks for any help !!

    Check moisture content of rootballs--soon.

They'll be dry, and you'll want to not only water them, but actually immerse the pots/rootballs in a bucket of water for a soaking. It's getting a little late for safe planting; if you want to plant them now, and especially if in full sun, you'll have to be watering quite consistently all summer. Ideally, you should plant in fall or early spring so the roots have some time to get established before the dry season hits. If you must plant now, and have the option of a partly shaded location, go for that.
