I have some black currents here and would like to eat them (I am positive they are black currents). They smell lovely. My question is...is the fruit supposed to be somewhat greenish inside? They appear fully ripe on the outside, and I always envisioned the inner pulp to be...well, black, or purplish. Help, please!

I can't find anywhere exactly when they are supposed to be ripe in your area. I did find there are several varieties that are early. I used to pick mine towards the end of summer but then I only had one sort of black and I don't remember green inside. My red ones were about the same time.

I am assuming you have currents and not gooseberries

Hopefully some one will pick this note up as I too would like to know.
