I have a question regarding Eastern white cedars with sporadic browning (more like orange) on both some of the inner and outer leaves. There are no holes evident on the twigs, there is no bronzing from mites, there were no leaf miners found, there are no lesions or fungal mycelia evident. On some small branches the inner leaves are brown and the distal leaves on the same branch are green. On other branches there may be only outer leaves affected. The twigs with the affected leaves fall off the plant with a minmal amount of force and the pith at the point where it breaks off has a hollow area. Any ideas what the problem might be?
