I have a Copper Beech tree in Connecticut, USA and it is about 15yrs old. Every year, so far, it has pretty much retained it's leaves through much of the winter but this year we have noticed it is losing it's leaves now, in November. I am wondering if this is a problem ? Otherwise the tree seems healthy.

    Re: Copper Beech Tree Problem

Beech trees hold their leaves when young. Are all the leaves falling? Maybe your tree is old enough to loose it's leaves.

    Re: Copper Beech Tree Problem

    Thank- you for replying.
Our Copper Beech tree is about 16yrs old. It is still holding a few of it's leaves but last year it kept most of the leaves for the winter.

I appreciate learning that younger trees hold their leaves and older ones shed them.

I was worried that something might be wrong with the tree. We love the tree so much.

We bought it after I read the book "The Copper Beech" by Maeve Binchy in 1992, so that was 16yrs ago.

    Thank-you,

    Ellen from Connecticut
