Dypsis lutescens or Chrysalidocarpus lutescens

    about a year ago i bought this very sad looking areca palm and repotted it and it is now activly growing. the younger leaves are starting to get brown tips adn i ws wondering if i can cut off the parts that are brown or the whole stem. Also this i sgrown indoors.

    Cut only the dry (brown) parts if that's your intention. These are semi-tropical to tropical in nature and dupilcating those conditions produce nice plants. They can be prone to mites and grow weakly in the northern indoor environments. The unfortunate part of many plants sold as "house plants", is that they are far from happy in such conditions.

    thanks man..... i bought it from superstore... they dont take real good care of here palnts i felt sorry fer it lol...... in the summer its gets ncei heat and humidity and ncie light.. teh winter it in a west windowfairly close to it....... so far so good thanks fer the info
